Saturdays, 2:00pm-5:00pm
Travel 45 minutes north of the Greater Los Angeles Area and you’ll find raw talent, incomparable to the microwave DJs typically heard these days. J Scratch’s unique, signature style combines an eclectic mix of rock influence, hip-hop, and crossover mainstream. The result is an unparalleled, dynamic sound and smooth style that makes him one of the most sought after DJs in the nation.
Discovering his passion for entertaining at the tender age of eleven, J Scratch found his musical inspiration in legendary artists such as Marvin Gaye, El Debarge, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, as well as DJ pioneers KDAY mixmasters on 1580 AM (DJ Joe Cooley, Tony G, Jammin Gemini, Uncle Jams Army). This same passion led J Scratch to devote his life to creating a fresh and innovative brand of DJ’ing that sets him apart from the rest. His technical prowess originates from his innate artistic energy and years of mastering the art of blending, mixing and scratching. J Scratch’s incomparable technique on the turntables reels in his audience and keeps them hooked.
Platforming with his unique, signature brand of mixing rock, hip hop, and Top 40, J Scratch’s adaptability affords him diverse venues. He has DJ’d weddings, private parties and Bar Mitzvahs at 5 Star Hotels, such as the SLS Hotel Beverly Hills, as well as celebrity parties, including a family wedding held at Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s home, and for, the one and only, Miss Janet Jackson.
It is J Scratch’s wide ranging versatility, as well as his unsurpassed ability to read the crowd, that has won him the honor of sharing the stage with some of the world’s finest DJs, such as DJ Scotty Boy, DJ Splyce, DJ Enrie, DJ Gusto and DJ Swedish Egil. Whether DJing private parties with Snoop Dogg and DJ AM, to DJ’ing historic venues, such as Dodger’s Stadium, or party rocking stages with luminaries LMFAO, Robin Thicke, Nick Cannon, Ray J, Tyrese, Lloyd, and Cassie, J Scratch knows how to hold the crowd from start to finish.
